Ties just don’t do it for me…

Villa 1-Man U 1. Not an exciting way to walk away from the stadium. Villa took a 1-0 lead at the 19 minute mark off a great Carlos Cuellar header. Less than 4 minutes later, Ryan Giggs blasted a ball towards net at about the six yard line and it deflected off of James Collins for an own goal and a 1-1 game. Nani gets sent off with the next few minutes which left Man U with 10 men….and Villa never capitalized. Pretty frustrating football to watch from that point on. On a night when Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham fell, Villa had a great opportunity to move up and let it slip by. Was I happy to be able to attend the match when getting tickets only 2 days before? Yes, definitely. Would I have liked to have seen a winner? For sure. Ties are very tough to take. I’m a baseball player at heart. We played extra innings. You won, you lost, you knew where you stood. You never had to shake hands and say, well, at least we didn’t lose.

Quick hits of the day:

– Am I really ready to head back to Michigan and the snow that just fell yesterday? The humid walks into work in Hong Kong are looking better and better.

– North Carolina, what happened? Good for Duke for taking it to the Tar Heels in what was probably one of the least anticipated Tobacco Road match-ups in recent years.

– The NCAA is starting to feel like the Obama adminstration. Pick out the very successful and punish them. Fight it Texas, fight it.

– Charlie Wilson had his war and his movie. God rest his soul.

– Olympic countdown – 2 days. Pumped.

Goodnight and God Bless,

Scott
