Lufthansa let’s me down…

I muat have been lucky. Very lucky in fact. And I had no idea. All of my transatlantic long-haul flights the last few years have been with Northwest/KLM. Most of the time these flights were on A330s, easily my favorite planes solely for legroom and the individual movie screens.

Lufthansa delivered a blow from the start by weighing my carry-on luggage, the first time I have ever been forced to do that (and subsequently unload a bunch of items into a checked luggage bag). Then I got to my seat on the Boeing 747 and found a lack of individual movie screens. I was at the hands of Lufthansa’s entertainment director for the next 12 hours. Not a fan. The food didn’t even spruce up my feelings towards what seemed more and more like a no frills airline comparable to Southwest, not something to take me 1/2 way around the world.

Funny/weird moment of the trip was seeing not 1, not 2, but 3 different people sitting in window seats get to the aisle not by asking their other to aislemates to get up, but by climbing over the first person, putting their foot on the right armrest of the aisle seat, and stepping over the 2nd person. I was stunned. Average age of seat climbers, ohhhh 57 give or take a few years. Unreal! I had never seen anything like it.

Hong Kong delivered in grand fashion for the lst fortnight. Off to England now before finidhing the round-the-world journey.

Goodnight and God Bless,

Scott

I have myself done many a climbo over on a plane. I don’t like being rude and waking up my aisle mates and have done many climb over, pee, climb back overs in my day.

Come on Lockhart don’t see such a snob about everything. Just enjoy the journey. Nobody likes a whiny bitch. What?
