Be sad about this…

Let’s start a collection to send Jalen Rose to Haiti. Tonight, the former Fab 5er stated that he thought the Gilbert Arenas situation was sad. Gilbert Arenas, mind you, had the world in his hands. His city loved him, he had a $100 million+ contract. He was the best player on his team. Unfortunately, he fought through some injuries. But no one should be SAD for Gilbert Arenas. He has made plenty of BAD choices. What’s sad is a natural disaster destroying homes and killing people. Let’s let Jalen go figure that out.
If I were David Stern, I would think long and hard about never letting Arenas play in The League again. Scant few people would sit around and get upset that they did not get to watch Arenas. Watch Jonas Jerebko, you’ll get more excitement anyway. Arenas had his chance. He actually had multiple chances. He played after the incident but decided to “shoot guns” in the team’s pre-game huddle. Hey Gilbert, you broke the law. You could have killed someone. Get out of the league. That’s the way it should be. Washington should be able to get off the hook for his contract. Instead, Rose and others talked about how the NBA Player’s Association would fight for Arenas to 1) make sure he plays again and 2) makes sure Washington cannot void his contract. Oh how I hope the union (which I have a natural predisposition for disliking and think should have gone the way as much of other novel early 20th century inventions….away), loses its fighs. Hey union, Gilbert Arenas is not someone you want to use your fighting points for. Let him rot. Shoot, let him go play in the D-league or Europe. And let him take Rose with him. Then they can both be SAD together.
